ONE PROMPT. SO MANY PLOT TWISTS.

IS YOUR CODEX
HAVING A
MOMENT?

A pelican. A bicycle. What could possibly go wrong? A little gallery for big AI expectations and beautifully questionable results.

Meet the pelicans

Made for the group chat. And the occasional existential crisis.

A VERY SERIOUS BIRD TEST

LESS DOOMSCROLL.
MORE PELICAN.

The story behind the prompt

When AI feels off, it helps to have something you can actually look at. Simon Willison’s pelican test gives everyone the same wonderfully awkward starting point.

Does a bad pelican mean Codex is degraded?

No. One drawing cannot establish a quality regression or account-level restriction. Prompting, model settings and randomness all matter. This launch is a place to compare and share examples, with no live quality verdict.

Can I upload my own result?

Not in this first release. Protected Skill/MCP uploads are the next milestone, with sign-in, short-lived upload tokens, safety review and owner deletion. No files are collected by this page.

What do the gallery labels mean?

They are playful editorial labels, not benchmark scores. The starter artworks come from the linked public collection and keep their original model names. They are not represented as current Codex generations.
